iPhone 8 will face stiff competition with Samsung Galaxy Note 8
With September quickly approaching, the fate of Apple's next batch of iPhones, including the iPhone 8, is still up in the air. The latest rumor suggests that Apple may unveil its iPhones at a Sept. 12 event.
Apple is said to be releasing the updated iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus alongside a dramatically updated iPhone 8 (possibly called the iPhone X, Anniversary Edition or something else). The company will face stiff competition from Samsung's just-launched Galaxy Note 8 phone.
The iPhone 8 will be the first iPhone in history to support wireless charging out of the box, a feature that’s been available on Android phones for years. Well, you can add wireless charging to existing iPhones, but you’d have to buy a third-party case to do it.
AppleInsider recently reported that the iPhone 8 will also feature three configurations, with 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB options.
Apple usually charges an extra $100 for each size bump, which means that a 512GB iPhone 8 could end up costing somewhere around $1,200.
